A Chat With Designer Sophie Allport
A well-loved British brand since 2007, Sophie Allport opened her Harrogate shop in 2023, bringing her nature-inspired homewares, gifts, and everyday luxuries to the heart of the town. We caught up with Sophie to talk about how she started, her inspiration, and what makes the store so special.
For those who don’t know, tell us a little about Sophie Allport.
We’re a British homewares brand inspired by the countryside, nature, and everyday life. I started the business with my brother in 2007, creating hand-illustrated designs for kitchenware, table linens, bedding, bags, and more. Our collections range from buzzing bees to delicate florals – and I still hand-draw and paint every design in watercolour myself!
What makes the Harrogate shop special?
We opened our Harrogate shop in 2023, and it’s been so lovely becoming part of this vibrant town. The shop brings our products to life! Visitors can see and feel our fabrics, explore our range of mugs, or even browse our Made to Measure service for curtains and blinds. It’s a place to find inspiration for every corner of the home or a thoughtful gift – including our exclusive Harrogate mugs, tea towels, and prints.
What can shoppers expect when they visit?
A very warm welcome from our knowledgeable team and a range of homewares and gifts, we even have a beautiful selection of furniture too! Our shop will change with the seasons too, so there is always something new to explore.
