Grace & Morris Architects Appointed to Transform Riverside Home on the River Nidd

Grace and Morris Architects have been appointed to oversee the transformation of a property situated on the banks of the River Nidd in Knaresborough, near Harrogate. The project adds to the practice’s portfolio of residential architecture in North Yorkshire.

The riverside property presents substantial potential for redevelopment. The brief involves reimagining the home to create a contemporary family space that makes full use of its setting, improves internal layout, and aligns with modern living requirements.

Plans include a full modernisation of the existing structure. A new entrance is proposed to improve circulation throughout the building. Internally, the design team is developing an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area with improved connections to the surrounding landscape. Externally, the architectural character is intended to be updated with contemporary materials and revised proportions.

The project is located in an area with a distinctive local character, and considerations relating to the riverside setting form a key part of the design approach.

The scheme is currently in its early design stages. Further updates are expected as the project progresses through design development and planning.
